Doch in Landmannalaugar kannst du locker campieren. Der Campingplatz nach der ersten Tagesetappe auf dem Laugavegur soll voll Schnee sein. Obwohl ich nicht weiss warum man auf Schnee nicht campieren kann? Ich gehe morgen mal nach Landmannalaugar. Falls da noch welche sind die den Trek starten gehe ich mit, ansonsten halt nur Tageswanderungen.
Allgenein ist schwer abzuschätzen wie schlimm das ganze ist, da ich nicht weiss welchen Masstab die locals nehmen. Ich meine für jemand der noch nie trekking machte bzw. mit unbrauchbarer Ausrüstung kommt, der sollte besser nicht gehen.

As of now the conditions are:
From Landmannalaugar – Hrafntinnusker – Álftavatn = alot of snow and hard to find your way when the fog creeps up on you. I would NOT recommend going without a GPS. The huts are pretty much booked up and the campground is covered in meters of snow so you would have to hike all the way to Álftavatn. Note that the huts in Álftavatn are often full aswell but the campground is in better condition than in Hrafntinnusker.
From Álftavatn to Emstrur there is still some snow, not as much though. The snow and ice is melting now so the rivers are quite difficult and I would recommend having proper footware and hiking poles when crossing.
From Emstrur down to Þórsmörk the conditions are normal and great J
Shorter day hikes in Landmannalaugar are opening up now one by one – Suðurnámur and Ljótipollur are open now for an example. Just note that there is still quite alot of snow in the area so the scenery might be very different to what you‘re expecting.
Þórsmörk day hikes are also open – there might be snow on some of the paths but not so much that you won‘t be able to pass them with a very short detour. J
I recommend checking in again the day before your trip just to make sure you have the latest information, just because the weather changes rapidly and the conditions with it.

Winterausrüstung heisst? Schneeschuhe, Steigeisen oder wie?

Also ich fliege am 4. Juli nach Reykjavik und ca. am 6. Juli starte ich nach Landmannalaugar. Die Strecken nach Landmannalaugar sind(teilweise) geöffnet. Dort werde ich erst mal 1-3 Tage Tagestouren machen um mir das ganze anzusehen und meinen Rucksack von Essen zu erleichtern. Danach lasse ich mich mal überraschen. Das Waten könnte evtl. wirklich anstrengend werden.
